Chapmans Emergencies

An emergency is something that is a risk to life and property – whether yours or a neighbours.

The key issues and your first course of action are below:

If you smell gas or think that you may have a gas leak somewhere then you should call the National Grid Gas Emergencies (formerly Transco) line straight away on 0800 111 999.

Open your windows and doors to let air in, make sure all gas appliances are turned off and turn the gas off at the mains if possible.

Please turn off the stop cock (location will be detailed in your inventory) and all water supplies before calling Chapmans. If the water flow has slowed down then please report this online as the extra advice will be given to you.

Once this has been done please call 0131 4474453.

The City of Edinburgh Council (0131 529 7050).

If you are experiencing night time anti social behaviour from your neighbours and wish to report this whilst the incident is occurring please click here to see you’re the best number for you to call.

If all else fails you can contact the Police Force Control Centre on 101.

Following this please call the office number on 0131 4474453 – where the team can help you. If the issue is out of hours you will be put through to a member of the Chapmans team who can help work out if this is indeed an emergency or if it can wait until the next working day. If necessary we have emergency contractors on hand ready to help! Either way, we will need you to report this online!
