Laura started her career working in Insolvency and then in Banking (Chartered Banker). She then went on to set up Chapmans in 2010 while working alongside her husband in his kitchen and bathroom installation business. From working in large corporates, practical hands-on knowledge of property renovations and her own experience as a landlord for over 20 years, Laura is able to empathise and also understand a client’s needs and aspirations. She is able to use her wealth of experience and her ability to look ahead and future-proof investments to offer straightforward, clear and balanced advice tailored to each and every client. Her diligent approach to credit control and ensuring the team find the best Tenants meant that Chapmans had no COVID-related rent arrears during the pandemic – which is no mean feat!
She is fully focused and passionate about growing her team to help develop their skill sets so that they can go on to continue offering the first-class service that Chapmans has become well known for. Laura is big on out-of-the-box thinking and is continually working to innovate our service offering in order to best serve our Landlords, Clients, Tenants and Contractors, without whom the business would not exist.
In addition, her keen social conscience and determination to make a difference sees her fully involved with the Edinburgh Care Forum (a Founder Member) alongside promoting better practices in terms of our environmental impact and looking to raise money for good causes.

My Favourite things to do in my spare time: Spending time with my family – husband Tim, son Harry, daughter Lily and dog Wiggy, running (about to do my third half marathon), and anything outdoors – hiking, kayaking, wild swimming…
My Favourite place in Edinburgh: too difficult to choose but I love walking and running at the Hermitage, Braids and up near Harlaw Reservoir
